5 Points Farmers Market (4:00PM - 7:00PM)
Buy fresh fruits and vegetables from our local farmers at the 5 Points Market on Thursday afternoons in historic downtown. Mainstreet Cleveland is organizes the weekly seasonal market that opens on Thursday, May 27, at the Museum Center at 5ive Points. The 5 Points Market will continue each Thursday afternoon throughout the season. Local artists and crafters will feature a variety of items for sale. Entertainment and food will complete the family atmosphere. All area farmers and gardeners are invited to participate; spaces are free.

Charleston Ruritan Club (7:00PM - 9:00PM)
The Charleston Ruritan Club meets the second Thursday of each month at the Charleston United Methodist Church, located at 128 Cass Street NE in Charleston. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. with a catered meal; cost is $8 (resevations required for the meal). After dinner, the meeting continues with a short program and then a business session.

Newcomers Group (9:45AM - 11:59PM)
At this meeting Dr. Jane B. Schulz, EdD,  will speak. She taught elementary and special education for five years and at Western Carolina University for more than 20 years. She is the author of several books. In her writing and presentations, Dr. Schulz's focus is on inclusion, parent-profession collaboration and celebrating diversity. Her son Billy, born with Down Syndromeand now an adult, is frequently her partner in the presentations. All are welcome to attend. Meeting at Broad Street United Methodist Church.

Fulfilling Our Mission (All Day)

The Hiwassee Chapter, American Red Cross, greatly needs volunteers to fulfill its mission by preparing for, responding to, and recovering from emergencies and disasters. We need volunteers for many lines of services, presenters for preparedness, instructors and disaster action team members. Anyone interested in changing a life, starting with your own, please attend the next free Fulfilling Our Mission/New Volunteer Orientation. The orientation takes place Tuesday Sept. 14, at 6 p.m. at the chapter. To register for this free orientation, just give us a call at 423-472-1595, ext. 108. Square Dance Classes (7:00PM - 8:00PM)
Get good exercise and learn to square dance with Alan Hall (caller) and the Calico Squares. Garden Plaza Community Room (second floor), 3500 Keith St NW, Cleveland. Class from 7 to 8 p.m. Club dances from 8 to 9:30 p.m. First class free. $4 per class after first class. Classes continue every Tuesday until graduation.

12th Annual Museum Gala (7:00PM - 10:00PM)

The 12th Annual Gala for the Museum Center at 5ive Points will honor Mrs. Bess Mayfield Neil, who helped start the museum through her gift to the endowment. Our largest fundraiser of the year, the gala is a black-tie, sit-down dinner held at the Museum Center. The theme this year centers around the horse farms of Bradley County in honor of Mrs. Neil's horse farm, Blythewod. Tor receive an invitation to the gala, call the Museum Center at 423-339-5745.

"Stray Cat Strut" Cruise-In (All Day)
The MainStreet Cruisers present the “Stray Cat Strut” Cruise-In featuring Klassyc Tyme on the event stage. Over 600 vehicles in a 12-block area around the Bradley County Courthouse. Free gift to the first 250 vehicles. Four local restaurants plus food vendors. DJ plays music with no repeats. Event T-shirts available. Swap meet, 50/50 drawing and model car contest.

Becky Cooke Smith Memorial Golf Tournament (1:00PM - 11:59PM)
Panera Bread and Cooke's Food Stores are teaming up to host the fourth annual Becky Cooke Smith Memorial Golf Tournament at Cleveland Country Club. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Chattanooga affiliate of the Breast Cancer Network of Strength, The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga College of Business Scholarship Fund and the Brenda Davis Fund.
