Mike Griffin

Primary Responsibilities at the Chamber:

Responsible for the full range of activities that includes but is not limited to the coordination of work; organizational structure and procedures; motivation of volunteers; income and expenditures; maintenance of membership, employment, training, and supervision of staff; interpretation of policy; maintenance of quarters; and strategic planning. Oversees the preparation; maintenance of the Board’s agenda; minutes; and records. Carries out the plans and programs in accordance with established policies; serves as representative of the Board for all contacts with the Chamber staff; advise and initiate programs under consideration by the Board. Provides the strategic leadership necessary to garner full engagement of board members in participating in Chamber initiatives.

Oversees the activities of the Economic Development Council; Industrial Development Board; and coordinates with the staff member appointed to work with Cleveland Associated Industries.

Chairman of the Board for Cleveland State Community College Foundation; President-Elect of the University of Tennessee Alumni Association Board of Governors, Executive Board memebrs of Thrive Regional Partnership, Past-President of the Rotary Club of Cleveland; the City of Cleveland’s Health and Education Board; and Past-Chairman for Erlanger Health System.

Member of Broad Street United Methodist Church.

Recipient of the 2010 Servant Leadership Award by the Tennessee Association of Community Leaders, 2021 Rotarian of the Year, 2023 Junior Achievement of the Ocoee Region Ron Braam Award winner, graduate of Leadership Cleveland and Leadership Chattanooga.

BS degree, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and advanced professional certifications in Commercial Lending and Banking from Vanderbilt University.
